Day 1:
Airport – Colombo
Arrival at Colombo International Airport: Upon arrival, our English -speaking driver/guide will meet and greet you at the airport,
Transfer to Colombo (1 hour) : You will be transferred to Colombo, the vibrant capital of Sri Lanka, known for its mix of colonial heritage, modern infrastructure, and tropical charm. As you drive through the bustling streets, you’ll see a fascinating blend of colonial-era buildings and contemporary skyscrapers.
Afternoon - City Tour (3:00 PM):
The city tour includes a visit to the Fort and Pettah area, where you’ll experience the lively streets of Pettah, Colombo's vibrant market district, and the historical Fort, which was once the center of British colonial administration. You will also pass by the Old Parliament Building, an iconic colonial structure of great historical importance. Continuing through the city, you’ll visit Town Hall, a grand colonial building, and the Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, known for its red-and-white striped exterior. You’ll also stop at Nelum Pokuna, a modern theater complex, and enjoy the beauty of Vihara Maha Devi Park, Colombo's largest urban park. The tour will also include a visit to famous Hindu temples like the Sri Ponnambalawaneswaram Kovil, as well as Independence Square, with its Independence Memorial Hall. Finally, pass by the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall) and visit the beautiful Gangaramaya Temple, a blend of traditional and modern architecture.
Dinner and Overnight in Colombo: After the city tour, return to the hotel for a restful evening and overnight stay.
Day 2:
Colombo – Ridee Viharaya – Dambulla
Breakfast at the Hotel and leave for Ridee Viharaya (Silver Temple) near Kurunegala (approx. 3 hours' drive from Colombo).
Ridee Viharaya is a hidden gem nestled in the lush green hills of the Kurunegala District. This ancient cave temple, built during the reign of King Dutugemunu in the 2nd century BC, is deeply connected to the sacred Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. Legend has it that silver ore discovered at this site was used to complete the great Ruwanwelisaya stupa in Anuradhapura — hence its name, the “Silver Temple.”
The temple complex features intricate carvings, centuries-old murals, and a serene atmosphere surrounded by forested rock outcrops. Guests will enjoy the peaceful setting and spiritual significance, along with panoramic views of the countryside. It’s a unique opportunity to step into the timeless beauty of Sri Lanka’s Buddhist heritage away from the typical tourist trail.
Thereafter leave for the cultural triangle.
You will proceed to the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the ancient Buddhist cav e temples, which house stunning murals and over 150 statues of Buddha. The temples are set within a large rock, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding area. The intricate artwork and serene atmosphere make this a truly peaceful and historic site to visit.
After your visit to the cave temples, you will be transferred to your hotel in Habarana or Dambulla for check-in.

Day 3:
Dambulla – Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Dambulla
Early morning leave for Sigiriya Rock Fortress to start with an early climb.
Visit Sigiriya, the magnificent rock fortress rising 200 meters above the jungle, once a royal citadel. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Sigiriya is known for its ancient frescoes, water gardens, and impressive Lion’s Gate. The summit offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes and is home to ruins of the royal palace and other structures. As you ascend the rock, you’ll pass through an intricate series of steps, platforms, and remnants of ancient architecture, each telling a story of Sri Lanka’s rich history.
Thereafter return to the hotel for breakfast.
Thereafter proceed on a Village Safari experience.
Experience rural Sri Lanka with a tractor / bullock cart ride through the village, followed by a boat ride on a local lake. This will give you an insight into the traditional lifestyle of Sri Lanka. The experience also includes a tuk tuk ride through the villages.
Thereafter proceed to Polonnaruwa, the second capital of Sri Lanka. Known for its well-preserved ruins, the city is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Key highlights include the Royal Palace, Gal Vihara (rock temple with Buddha statues), and the Parakrama Samudra (an ancient man-made reservoir).
Explore the ancient stone sculptures, beautiful Buddhist shrines, and the towering remains of ancient kings’ palaces.
Return to your hotel in Dambulla or Sigiriya for dinner and restful night.
Day 4:
Dambulla – Matale – Kandy
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel in Dambulla/Habarana.
Depart for Nalanda Gedige, a fascinating and lesser-known archaeological site located near Matale. This ancient stone temple, believed to date back over a thousand years, showcases a unique blend of Hindu and Buddhist architectural styles. Often referred to as the "center point" of Sri Lanka, Nalanda Gedige is surrounded by peaceful greenery and offers a quiet but intriguing stop for history and architecture lovers. Its fusion design and secluded atmosphere make it a captivating addition to the journey.
Thereafter continue to Matale (approx. 30 minutes).
Upon arrival in Matale, visit a Spice Garden, where you’ll learn about the different spices that are cultivated in Sri Lanka, such as cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, and vanilla. You’ll get a firsthand experience of the plants and how they are processed, and there will also be a chance to purchase some locally grown spices as souvenirs.
Afterward, head to Sri Muthumari Aman Kovil, a beautiful Hindu temple in Matale. This temple is dedicated to the goddess Mariamman and is known for its vibrant and intricate architecture. It’s a great place to learn more about Sri Lanka’s religious diversity.
Continue your journey to Kandy (1.5 hours), a city renowned for its cultural significance and stunning natural beauty.
embark on a city tour, starting with a visit to the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa), a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most sacred Buddhist temples in the world. You will also visit Kandy Lake, a serene body of water in the heart of the city, before heading to Kandy Viewpoint for a panoramic view of the city. Visit the Batik factory, where you can watch traditional batik-making processes, and the semi-precious stone factory, which produces exquisite jewelry and ornamental pieces from locally mined stones.
You'll also have some free time to explore the town at your own pace, shop for local handicrafts, or simply enjoy the ambiance of the city.
After a day full of cultural exploration, enjoy a relaxing dinner at your hotel and unwind for the night
Day 5:
Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
Enjoy a breakfast before setting off for the day to Nuwara eliya. (2. 5 hours) Depart Kandy and travel through the scenic hill country, passing tea plantations and rolling hills. This picturesque drive offers fantastic views of lush green landscapes.
En route to Nuwara Eliya, stop at a tea plantation to learn about Sri Lanka’s tea industry. Visit a tea factory where you’ll see the tea-making process from leaf to cup. After the tour, enjoy a cup of fresh Ceylon tea while admiring the surrounding lush hills and terraced tea fields.
Optional Train Journey: For those seeking a more scenic route, the train journey from Peradeniya to Nanu Oya offers panoramic views of tea plantations, forests, and waterfalls. (Note: This is subject to availability and can be arranged at an additional cost of USD 25 per person).
Arrive in Nuwara Eliya, known as “Little England,” Nuwara Eliya boasts cool, temperate weather and colonial architecture. Take some free time to explore the city’s gardens, stroll around Lake Gregory or Victoria Park.

Day 6:
Nuwara Eliya – Ella – Tissamaharama
After breakfast, depart from Nuwara Eliya and travel towards Ella (2 hrs), a scenic town nestled in the hills of Sri Lanka. As you journey through winding roads, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of lush green tea plantations and stunning mountain landscapes.
Upon arrival in Ella, take a tuk tuk ride to the famous Nine Arch Bridge. This iconic structure, surrounded by dense jungle, is one of Sri Lanka's most photographed landmarks. Enjoy the breathtaking views and take time to capture this beautiful sight.
Continue your journey to Buduruwagala, an ancient Buddhist rock temple located in a serene setting. The temple is known for its large stone carvings, including a towering Buddha statue that stands at 51 feet, along with several other smaller statues. It's an important historical and cultural site that offers a glimpse into Sri Lanka's ancient Buddhist heritage.
Thereafter continue your drive towards Tissamaharama, the gateway to Yala National Park. You’ll be passing through picturesque rural landscapes as you head to your hotel in Tissa.

Day 7:
Tissamaharama – Weligama – Galle – Beach Resort
Early morning, head to Yala National Park, one of the best places to spot Sri Lanka’s wildlife. The park is known for its high concentration of leopards, as well as elephants, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. A safari in an open jeep takes you through diverse landscapes, from dense jungle to open plains, giving you plenty of opportunities for wildlife sightings.
Thereafter head to the South Coast with a Stop at this coastal town to witness stilt fishing, a traditional method of fishing practiced by local fishermen. This unique sight involves fishermen standing on wooden stilts placed in the shallow waters and using a single fishing line to catch fish.
Arrive in Galle (2.5 hours).
Thereafter visit the Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Built by the Portuguese and later expanded by the Dutch, this colonial-era fort offers panoramic views of the ocean and harbor, along with charming cobbled streets filled with Dutch-era architecture.
On completion leave for you beach hotel on the south coast for some time to unwind at the resort.

Day 8:
