Day 1:
AIRPORT |COLOMBO
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Welcome to Sri Lanka!
On arrival, you will meet your tour guide, and he will accompany you to the hotel in Negombo. Dubbed Sri Lanka’s ‘Little Rome’, this beach town located just a few kilometers away from the Bandaranaike International Airport is full of surprises for wanderlusts. Negombo is a perfect choice to spend a few days in the company of the sun and sand. The diverse array of restaurants, pubs and accommodation choices this metropolis offers is a perfect reflection of this beach-town’s exultant vibe. It is also a historically interesting location owing to the strains of Dutch -influenced architecture that remain intact in the town’s landscape, not to mention the ancient Dutch Fort as well as several churches constructed during the Dutch Colonial era that are thronged by pilgrims daily .Among other amazing sightseeing options are the breathtaking sunsets, the bustling fish market as well as hand-made
catamarans used by local fishermen that set sail in the evenings. Check into the hotel and relax at the hotel

Day 3:
NEGOMBO |DAMBULLA
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, leave for Dambulla. (Approx. 4 Hours’ drive) Having lunch at a local cafe and visiting Dambulla Cave Temples en route. (Approx. 2 hours walk/climb) Dambulla Rock Temple - Climb up to the temple, which was donated by King Walagambahu in the 1st century BC to Buddhist monks. Dambulla is a World Heritage Site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves, with ceiling0 sq. meters of painted walls and the ceiling, is the largest area of paintings found in the world. These caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the
largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock spanning 14 meters. Arrive and check into the hotel in Dambulla.

Day 4:
DAMBULLA |PIDURANGALA ROCK| VILLAGE TOUR |DAMBULLA

Early morning visit to Pidurangala Rock, with the possibility of viewing sunrise (About a 45-minutes hike per way) Pidurangala Rock – This rock has a much more natural feel, despite also housing a Buddhist temple. Pidurangala Rock is adjacent to Sigiriya Rock and is the best viewing spot of Sigiriya Rock as it is only slightly lower. Pidurangala is a popular spot for sunrise as you can
enjoy 360-degree views of not only the valleys but also Sigiriya Rock. It is believed that the history of the temple at Pidurangala goes back beyond the first and second century BC. From those days Pidurangala was used as a Buddhist monastery and but became a prominent place during the reign of King Kashyapa (473 – 495 AC). According to ancient chronicles, Prince Kashyapa had killed his father King Dhatu Sena and fled to Sigiriya to find out a more secure place to prevent retaliation attacks from his half -brother, Mugalan. With the arrival of King Kashyapa, the Bhikkus who mediated there were requested to move to the nearby Pidurangala. As compensation, King Kashyapa refurbished the temple and made it a prominent place
After climbing Pidurangala rock, do a small village track around Sigiriya rock
Return to the hotel, have breakfast and take a small break. Thereafter leave for the nearby village of Hiriwaduna for a village tour, which will also include a cooking demonstration and a wonderful village lunch. (About 3 hours trek) Enjoy an easy walk for 2.5 hours around the small villages to see the daily life of farmers. The guided walk goes alongside Hiriwadunna lake giving chance to spot birds and land monitors and cross a little jungle rivulet
by Catamaran and reach a farmer simple “wattle and daub” house to enjoy your lunch cooked by the villagers
of this rural area. The bullock cart ride through the paddy fields would be of another very interesting experience and feel the traveling back in time where the early Sri Lankans used the bullock cart rides as a main mode of transportation here in Sri Lanka

Day 5:
DAMBULLA |MATALE |KNUCKLES | KANDY

After breakfast, leave for Knuckles, visiting a spice garden en route. Spice Gardens at Matale - you will see many spice gardens at Matale where Cinnamon, Cardamom, Pepper Creepers and all other spice trees, plants and creepers are planted for visitors to see them. Spice products are
also available for those who would like to buy them. At all Spice Gardens visitors are taken round explaining each tree and plant and at the end explaining the use of them in food preparations. The walk goes through pine forests, tea estates, gushing streams, jungle patches, waterfalls, terraced
rice fields and domestic spice fields. So, you will be able to see working spice, paddy and tea fields, interact with real locals. (Duration – 3 to 4 hours.)
Thereafter you will proceed to Kandy. (Approx. 1 ½ hours’ drive. Evening at leisure.

Day 6:
KANDY | NUWARA ELIYA
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
breakfast, visit to Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Thereafter you will be transferred to Kandy Railway Station for a train ride up to Nanu Oya (Nuwara Eliya) with picnic lunch. Kandy to Nanu Oya train ride – considered one of the most scenic train rides in the world. The original train
system in Sri Lanka was introduced in 1864 by the British Colonial government to transport tea from the hills to Colombo but nowadays, the train is an
extremely fascinating way to see the beautiful countryside of Sri Lanka. On arrival at Nanu Oya Railway Station, you will be transferred to Nuwara Eliya.

Day 7:
NUWARA ELIYA |HORTON PLAINS |NUWARA ELIYA

Early morning excursion to Horton Plains National Park for a trekking expedition with packed breakfast. (about 3-4 hours for the trek) Horton Plains - ’World’s End” and the beautiful bridal veil ‘Bakers Falls’ Sri Lanka’s highest plateau 7200 ft above sea level in the central mountain country. This
‘Fen” is a very scenic region with an astounding variety of scenery from mountains to grasslands, from marshes to trout streams. Sri Lanka’s best-flavored high grown teas are grown in the surrounding areas. Spectacular view from ‘Worlds End’ where the plateau
plunges a thousand feet in a straight sheer drop. Thereafter Sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya and visit to a tea plantation & factory in the afternoon.
Café Lunch – Nuwara Eliya Tea plantation -Sri Lanka, Tea and Tourism are words which cannot be separated. Take a tour to the cold & misty hills that take pride of an ultimate tea tour, covering lush green blankets of tea plantations. Or just step into a tea factory processing the prestigious brand
of Ceylon Tea, to observe a rich tradition kept alive up to date. Return to hotel and relax

Day 8:
NUWARA ELIYA | KITULGALA | GALE

After breakfast, leave for Beruwela via Kitulgala – film location of the award-winning movie by David Lean “The Bridge on the River Kwai”. you will enjoy a Jungle trek in Kitulgala. Makanadawa Forest is a mini – rain forest like Sinharaja and it is 2 – 3 hours Trekking trail through
the forest and you will experience Endemic Birds, fauna and flora in Kitulgala area. Total Trekking distance around 6 – 8 Km. lunch at a local cafe.

After breakfast, full day at leisure/ Optional - free to explore Galle fort. Café Lunch - Galle Galle is Located in the Southern province; the city of
Galle is a living time capsule. Home to the largest occupied Fort in Asia, its quaint beauty extends beyond its golden beaches and cerulean waters. The main attraction of Galle no doubt is its ancient Fort, which instantaneously takes the visitors back to the Dutch Colonial era. One can bask in the picturesque views and the rich history while walking through the narrow, cobbled streets, relish a meal from one of the interesting restaurants within the Fort or enjoy the cool sea breeze beneath the landmark lighthouse. Other fabulous options available during your stay in this ‘city of romance, is a hiking/camping trip at the Kanneliya forest reserve, a boat ride in the Koggala lagoon o r a visit to one of the artificial turtle hatcheries along the
coastal line of the city.
